The next time you find yourself in a crisis, take a moment and ask yourself:
• Is this about me?
• Is this a feeling from memory?
• Is my body feeling pain?
If you say yes to any of these questions, you are in no position to communicate or find a resolution. Remain calm, go quiet and become non-attached.
If you find yourself being subjected to a show of anger, okay, but be careful not to “mirror” them. Refrain from engaging, take a deep breath and find a way to leave. You will thank yourself for doing this.
